Great Hollands Primary School is a vibrant and exciting community school located in south-west Bracknell. Many of our children come from the local areas of Jennett’s Park and Great Hollands, with others coming from the wider Bracknell / Ascot area. We currently have 447 children on roll and all classes are currently taught in single aged year groups.
We believe every child is special and we are an inclusive school. Great Hollands Primary School is a caring, nurturing school which works in partnership with parents to support children in achieving their full potential.At Great Hollands we offer a curriculum which is broad, balanced and differentiated to meet individual needs. We strive hard to blend the core skills of reading, writing and mathematics into our creative curriculum which covers the full range of the primary curriculum. We also aim for pupils to have developed the interpersonal skills, confidence, patience, determination and independence to help them succeed in life.
The children benefit from working in bright, cheerful, well-resourced classrooms, all with interactive touch screen displays or interactive whiteboards.
Our school is growing and we a developing our buildings to meet demand. September 2015 saw the opening of a new suite of classroom spaces, break-out areas and toilet facilities for our Year1 children, with a covered outside area for learning both inside and out. September 2016 saw the opening of our brand new building for Early Years pupils in Nursery and Reception designed and developed for 21st century learning they come equipped with a host of modern systems including moveable walls and interactive touch screen displays. These bright, airy spaces alongside our specialist early years’ staff give our youngest children a fabulous start to their learning journey with us.
The school has invested heavily in IT infrastructure with a new whole school network, server and Wi-Fi access throughout. Allowing seamless interaction with our banks of iPads and laptops which are located in every year group in school and easily accessible for the children to use to enhance their learning experience.
Currently the school is developing new spaces for Year 3 pupils with new classrooms, training & development space for staff, a food technology room and a new school office and main entrance.
The school has two school halls for assemblies, dining, dance, music, drama, hosting exhibitions, plays and events. A separate school gymnasium provides opportunities for a variety of indoor sports and is used by the whole school. The school has aa well-stocked library and a fully networked ICT suite in addition to the plenty of learning spaces throughout the school for small group work and individual support.
The spacious school grounds include three designated adventure play areas, a quiet area, three separate playgrounds – each with their own wooden trim trail, an enclosed play area for Reception children, an environment area, a climbing ship, a traversing wall, a shady garden for the hot summer days and a courtyard filled with mini shelters to sit in and chill. With our large playing fields used for team sports and playtimes as well as our outside classroom gazebo, we are very grateful to be able to offer wonderful learning opportunities across the whole site.
